 Singapore’s strong performance in the Global Startup Ecosystem Index 2025 is driven by its exceptional Business Environment, where it ranks 2nd globally, and by solid performance in Quality (4th globally). Key overperforming parameters include a high concentration of active investors, frequent startup events, numerous high-impact Pantheon members, a strong presence of global ecosystem leaders, and a notable number of Y Combinator alumni. Singapore also performs well in employment within startups, showcasing scale. While parameters like funding and traction are on par with global averages, they still contribute to Singapore’s consistent and well-rounded ecosystem performance. 

 At the industry level, Singapore ranks 2nd globally in both Fintech and Ecommerce & Retail. In Fintech, it outperforms the UK significantly in quality and quantity, with a quality score over 80% higher, indicating strong global competitiveness, traction, and funding. In Ecommerce & Retail, although its quantity score is lower, Singapore compensates with a quality score more than double that of the UK and a superior business environment. This highlights both Singapore’s strength in building high-impact startups and an opportunity to scale volume through more startup creation, coworking spaces, and accelerators in strategic sectors.
